While I'm messing around with my various horn drivers and such using active crossovers, should I use a cap in series with the CD to keep any unwanted low frequency's from getting to the driver's? I'd hate to smoke a diaphragm because of a "doh" moment.

Yes. Thats what I do i my biamped system. On my horns that are crossed over at 750hz the cap comes in at around 250hz. Keeps any little bumps out of the horns
Thanks, any idea as to what value cap I should use? I'm mainly messing with the 902,806 series of drivers.

JBL produced written recommendations for limiting Caps for biamping their drivers. There is a couple of versions floating around the net. Thought I had them downloaded on my computer. Can't seem to find them tonight. I will look again this weekend.
